Program Overview

The Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program provides support and opportunities for students throughout their academic careers, from their freshman year through up to four years of graduate or professional study at IUPUI.

Students begin their studies as Bepko Scholars in the IUPUI Honors College. An enriched and integrated liberal arts curriculum supplements the in-depth training they receive within their majors. Scholars have access to the full range of state-of-the-art facilities available at IUPUI as well as faculty researchers who are committed to undergraduate teaching as well as graduate education and cutting-edge research.

When scholars remain at IUPUI for their graduate or professional studies, they become Bepko Fellows. Fellows continue their civic engagement activities and serve as mentors for new scholars.

Students interested in the Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program are also encouraged to consider the Honors Professional Admissions Program (HPA) which provides a pathway to graduate and professional education at IUPUI.  Through the HPA, accomplished high school seniors can apply for both undergraduate admission as well as admission to a participating graduate or professional program in such areas as medicine, dentistry, nursing, health and rehabilitation sciences, business, and engineering.

Supplemental Programming
Access to distinguished state, national, and international leaders as well as conversations with civic and non-governmental organizations will supplement classroom activities. Opportunities for study abroad, internships and intensive preparation for graduate or professional school admission is provided.

Service Learning and Civic Engagement
An integral part of the program is service learning and civic engagement. Bepko Scholars are expected to become actively engaged in service endeavors, from volunteering with local organizations to research with public service offices, scholars are involved in a large variety of civic and service activities both on- and off-campus.
